- The Chinese PV industry plans to grow 400% in the next five years, even though the industry is still in its infancy.
- Production capacity is expected to grow to 820 MW/yr in 2006.
- Silicon production capacity is growing at an even faster rate, with production of 10,000 tons a year of solar grade silicon planned by 2007.
- They plan to have a cullmulative 450 MW of solar power installed by 2010. The goal for 2020 is 8,000 MW of installed capacity.
- Over 250 companies comprise their solar industry.
